  • BE (Mechanical) from University of Pune in 1963
  • Commissioned in Indian Air Force in April 1964. Retired from I.A.F. in February 1997 after commanding Air Force Station Chandigarh as Air Officer Commanding in the rank of Air Commodore.
  • While in service, in 1976, deputed to go to Cranfield University (UK) –then Cranfield Institute Of Technology-  for Post Graduate Training in Thermal Power. Obtained MSc (Thermal Power) degree with A grade.
  • Awarded British Aerospace Medal for best performance in MSc.
  • Awarded scholarship to continue for PhD Degree. in Thermal Power which was completed in May 1981.
  • Worked as Deputy Chairman of Guided Missiles faculty in Institute of Armament Technology, for 6 years & 2 years as Director (Air Force wing) both in PROFESSOR GRADE. Recognized as Post-Graduate Teacher of Pune University from 1983 onwards in Mechanical Engineering Discipline.
  • Guided 19 ME students (Pune University) & one student for Ph.D. from IIT (Powai) in Mechanical Engineering Department till 1987.
  • Completed 5 projects in IAT during this period. These were related to aero- dynamic studies of small fighter aircraft of Ghana Air Force, Half-track vehicle of Indian Army, Increase in frequency of Flare and Chaff Emission of MIG-29 aircraft and Infra-Red Emission of Jaguar aircraft. Also participated as co-worker in a project of thrust-vectoring using fluidic controlled devices.
  • Commissioned demonstration type SUPERSONIC WINDTUNNEL.
  • Designed and conducted Gas Turbine Technology Course at Institute of

           Armament Technology, Pune for newly inducted scientists of Gas Turbine
           Research Establishments, Bangalore, DRDO. Course duration - one year.

  • Posted as Commanding Officer of Training Institute in Air Force Station, AWADI – Chennai. Modified the syllabus for training of Air Warriors (Technicians)  with emphasis on practical training and computerization.
  • Worked as Chief Engineering Officer at Premier Fighter Aircraft Base in Western Sector and finally as Air Officer Commanding of the biggest Helicopter Overhaul Depot at Chandigarh with 3000 manpower, covering various activities which include Overhaul of Airframe and Engine components, Avionics components, Hydraulic components and major activity of indiginisation of Russian components.
  • Published papers in 2 International Journals & 20 in National Journals in addition to presenting papers in various seminars in India while on deputation from Air Force. These papers are related to various topics covering the area of combustion, digital control of marine gas turbine Auxiliary Power Plant, Engineering Education and Organizational Behavior.
  • Attended 16 workshops / seminars covering various aspects of technology, learning processes and technology transfer in India and Abroad.
  • Organized seminars and workshops as Convener which include themes such as Management of Training Aids, Aerodynamics, Military Aircraft Airworthiness Certification, Competitive edge in Teaching, HRD in Aeronautical Engineering in India, EduTrends-2003 – Insight into Accreditation, Mini & Micro airvehicles, three of them being national level seminars.
  • After retirement, worked as Professor and HOD, Mechanical Engineering Department in SES College of Engineering in Kopargaon
  • Principal of Amrutvahini College of Engineering, Sangamner, a rural college in interior of Maharashtra, from November 1999 to November 2002.
  • Major achievement as Principal of the above college was award of Accreditation by NBA for three years for all five courses being conducted in the college. It is 3rd college in Maharashtra and 73rd in India.
  • In four years guided five industry related projects of UG Students in Kopargaon and four in Amrutvahini College of Engineering related to sustainable technology (such as Strawberry Gripper).
  • Activated Training and Development cell, which enabled campus interviews in rural area by major companies.
  • Principal of Vishwakarma Institute Of Information Technology Pune from June 2003 to June 2004.
  • Principal of PVG’s College of Engineering & Technology Pune from April 2007 onwards.
  • Approved PG Teacher of Pune University, since 1983.
  • Approved as Ph.D. guide by IIT Powai & IIT Chennai.
  • Chief Technical advisor and consultant to BpLab Cosultants Ltd. For technical and educational consultancy Pune.
  • Advisor to FEAST Software Ltd – An incubated company at SINE, IIT Powai involved in Fatigue Engineering Analysis and Simulation tools software.
